11.8.07 We have a couple more shows before the year is over. Head over to our gigs section for details. And we are planning to be in the studio by February to record the next album, so stay tuned for updates. |
9.5.07 Well it has been a while since we've had any updates (our sincerest apologies for that). On a sad note, Ron Holbrook, the original drummer for The Welch Boys, passed away on August 18th. Our condolences go out to Ron's friends and family. We are proud to be playing at Ronnie's benefit, which will be held at O'Brien's on October 13th. There will also be a raffle for a guitar and a signed Red Sox bat. The profits of the show will go to Ronnie's two young daughters and their mother. Head over to our gigs section for details. |
9.4.07 Head over to Mutiny Zine to check out an interview with our drummer Jym. |
6.21.07 We are currently hunkered down in our respective happy places working on new material for the next album. With a handful of songs already done, it is looking pretty good. As we get the pre-production down, we'll try to upload the MySpace demo tracks as often as we can. |
5.18.07 We posted a few new songs, in demo form, on our MySpace page. Click here to head over and check out our new layout... |

2.15.07 The zipper hoodie sweatshirts are back in stock! These double-sided hoodies are now for sale at our Blue Bloods store. And in gig news, weeklong passes are available for all the Darkbuster Hometown Throw-Up shows, scheduled to run from Sunday 2/18 to Saturday 2/24, all at the Abbey Lounge in Somerville. The passes went on sale this past Sunday night at the Abbey bar. Passes are $50 for the seven-night event, in which Darkbuster performs with 14 others, including us, Pure Impact, The Skels and The Trash Boys. Single-night tickets are available at 7 p.m. on the day of show only. We play first on 2/19, so be sure to come out early to check us out… |

12.19.06 The new shirts are in! These tees are fresh from the printer and sport the classic "eagle" Blue Bloods logo. Check 'em out - head over to our Blue Bloods store for the latest and greatest merchandise. |

10.19.06 The Blue Bloods have not one but two shows this Sunday, October 22nd. We start the day off taking part in the I-Scream Records Showcase. This matinee has an incredible line-up. We share the stage at Worcester's own Ralph's Diner with Boston greats Darkbuster, Far From Finished, The Ducky Boys and The Pug Uglies. Doors open at 3:00pm, so come out for some early afternoon punk rock. We then head up to Dover, NH for a gig at the Brickhouse. Doors for this open at 4:30pm, and we will probably hit the stage around 7:30pm. Our friends The Ducky Boys will also be doing double-duty that day, and be sure to come out early to catch Suburban Showdown, The ISF and Wrong Side of the Tracks. Details for both shows can be found on our gigs page. |

9.27.06 Giant merch sale!!! Head over to our Blue Bloods store where all t-shirts are now only $5 each. Get your hands on these shirt designs now, since once these sell out they will not be made again. The band is gearing up for new designs in the near future - so once these are gone, your only chance to get them will be on eBay...yuck. And we also have a special treat for those of you on MySpace (which is pretty much everyone on the planet). Once you add us as a "friend" and place us in your Top 8 (or 16, 24, etc. visible on your home page), shoot us a MySpace message with your name and mailing address and you'll get two free Blue Bloods stickers. Not only that, but every name we get will be entered into a random drawing for a pair of Blue Bloods CDs (Death of a Salesman and The Blue Bloods). The contest will run until the end of November or until sticker supplies run out. So please stop on by and become our "friend." |

9.13.06 We have a couple new shows for our fans in the New England area. Details can be found on our gigs page. We are also in the process of editing a few of our older live concerts for your viewing pleasure. We'll keep you posted as to where to check the clips out. |

8.30.06 One of our most devoted fans, Nick Cirkosz from Las Vegas (www.myspace.com/duckyboy) passed away on August 28th. He was in dire need of a kidney transplant and simply ran out of time. Nick was an incredible supporter of The Blue Bloods, and was even the first non-band member to sport a Blue Bloods tattoo (check out our MySpace pics section for a snapshot of his kick-ass tat). He will be missed by this band and the entire Boston music scene, and out thoughts are with his family and friends for their loss. |
8.14.06 All our Boston area friends and fans are invited to join us in celebration of our guitar player Kristin's 30th birthday this Friday, August 18th at the always great Abbey Lounge in Somerville. It is a free show, and it is going to be a blast - with music from The Blue Bloods, The Brunt of It, Andrea Gillis, The Dents and The Pug Uglies. Details can be found on our gigs page. |
8.12.06 A special thanks to the listeners of New Haven, CT radio station WNHU, who voted our album, Death of a Salesman, number #1 punk album for the week of July 17th. Thanks a million guys! |

7.28.06 After dealing with one hell of a computer virus, the offical Blue Bloods website is finally back up. The band sincerely apologizes for the delay. The next couple of months will bring a new website design, complete with updated pictures and merchandise - so please keep checking back. And the next couple of weeks brings two new shows. After many years, the band returns tonight to TT The Bears in Cambridge. We are lucky enough to be playing with our old friends the The Ducky Boys and Far From Finished. We hit the stage at 10:15, so get there early because the tickets for this are going fast. And next Friday, August 4th, we are fortunate to share the Dodge Street stage with The Dents and the Pug Uglies. Details for these shows are located on our gigs page. |
4.20.06 Well, what can I say, except...our first gig back is finally confirmed. After the mix-up back in March, we are proud to announce that we are playing Bill's Bar on Friday, May 19th with our friends The Pug Uglies and Noble Rot (formally The Drags). Doors open at 9:00pm, so get there early because this show will sell out. Other good news: our latest CD, Death of a Salesman, will be released stateside on May 16th. This record has been out in Europe for a while, so now our American fans can finally get their grubby little hands on it. Check all your local record stores on 5/16, or head over to our store section to grab a copy now. |
3.17.06 Due to circumstances beyond our control, our gig for next Friday 3/24 at the Middle East Upstairs has been cancelled. Apparently there are some issues with the club, so please don't hate us. We will reschedule as soon as humanly possible. Believe us, we want nothing more than to hit the stage again. |
3.15.06 Well the rumors are true...The Blue Bloods are back. Reformed and rejuvenated - we are proud to welcome back Greg Genovese on bass and vocals. He has been missed and we are all glad to have him with us again. And we eagerly welcome into the fold Rice on guitar and vocals (Drago/ex-Darkbuster) and Kristin Drago on guitar (Drago/Three Sheets). Our first gig back is the Welch Boys CD release party next Friday, March 24th at the Middle East Upstairs. Come on by and check out the latest and greatest incarnation of the band. This is not just a reunion gig, but the first of many in our return to the great Boston punk scene we've missed so dearly. |
2.27.06 Keep checking back here for some big news soon. There is something brewing in the Blue Bloods camp - so stay tuned... |
